Juhi Chawla humbled and honored with Indira Gandhi Memorial Award

New Delhi : Bollywood actress, model and film producer, and the winner of the Miss India beauty contest in 1984, Juhi Chawla on Thursday evening has received the prestigious Indira Gandhi Memorial Award 2015. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui also is among seven prominent personalities from different fields named for the award.

Gandhi Memorial Award is usually given by the Indira Gandhi Memorial International Foundation. This year two Bollywood celebrities - Juhi Chawla and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are received the award among the seven eminent personalities.

The 48-year-old actress feels humbled and honored with receiving the Indira Gandhi Memorial Award. She wrote in a post on micro-blogging site Twitter, "Received the Indira Gandhi Memorial Award this evening .. Truly humbled and honored . Thank you all."

She also posted some pictures of receiving the award from former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and All India Congress Committee general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi.

The other awardees are international athlete Kavita Raut, Marathi editor Rahi Bhide, author Kavita Mahajan, academician Farida Lambay and industrialist Megha Phansalkar. Nawazuddin recently played the male lead role in the movie ‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man’.
